Bored of movie reviews? This person makes every analysis interesting: Baradwaj Rangan

Nowadays every movie buff is complaining about BAD reviews on social media. Some reviewers narrate the whole story in the name of review, while few just focus on the hero elevations.
Here, I’d love to write about a film critic, Baradwaj Rangan who is popular across South Indian states.
Baradwaj Rangan aka BR works for Film Companion South. Earlier he worked for The New Indian Express, then as Deputy Editor of The Hindu. Here’s why he is special:
- Quickgun Rangan Reviews
He makes video reviews on films in a short duration of 2–3min without spoilers at all! Many people in Tamil Nadu wait for his review and then proceed to book tickets.
You can have a look at one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOzEaieI9ng - #AskBR
Exclusive for movie buffs who have queries regarding a film or an actor/director. We can ask a question on the given topic in twitter with the hashtag: #AskBR and then he makes a video answering all the questions.
Here’s the sample one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHHyfvVZueM - Insightful Interviews — Face2face with BR
This is a wonderful part of his work. The questions he asks, the type of interactions the people have during the interview, the knowledge an aspiring filmmaker can gain is huge. The interviews with Masters like Mani Ratnam, PC Sriram are must watch for film buffs.
Here’s the sample one: https://youtu.be/7OX6rA1Q_WE - Detailed analysis of a film
On Film Companion South website, he writes the detailed analysis of a movie. He covers the whole movie with major technicians work and gives an analysis that is worth reading.

Also, from the time I started following him, the respect and love towards films and filmmaking increased tremendously. He’s probably the best one in the town.
Do you know other critics, whom I shall follow? Comment below. I’d love to hear from you :)
